Carol Vernon said:
“I am very concerned that one result of the 2016 NSW budget will be a cut to the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption of ten staff.
“I am not surprised that Liberal/National politicians would cut an anti-corruption body that has been so diligent and caused the removal of so many of their colleagues.
“The Greens have continually been thwarted by the Liberal/National Coalition and the Labor Party in establishing a federal anti-corruption body. I ask why.
Senator Richard Di Natale said today, “Reform of our political system, in particular donations reform and a corruption watchdog, will be central to any negotiations if no party is able to form a majority after July 2.”
“I will always advocate for the effective staffing of a state anti-corruption watchdog and the establishment of a federal anti-corruption watchdog, said Carol Vernon.
“Australians are demanding a political system free of corruption.”
